Did you know about Bill 120 which supports the removal of HST from charges for the services that Registered Psychotherapists provide? In an email to their members (I am one of them), Jane Alway, President of the OAMHP (Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals), wrote about Bill 120 which was brought forth by MPPs Jill Andrew and France Gelinas on April 28th 2022 . Jane writes that “While the Bill did pass first reading, owing to the official start to the provincial election, the Bill will not move forward. It is possible to reintroduce a Bill after an election and OAMHP will continue to advocate for the removal of HST for services provided by RPs.”

Does this impact you? Want to know more about getting involved? Let me know and I can send you more details

I’d love to know more about this. Being a RP, LCT, RCT, CT, etc and having the HST be required is yet another barrier for mental health care services. All mental health workers should be advocating for this removal!
